Let’s get back to braiding basics. Here’s how it’s done.
Step-by-step, here are the products you need to care for your natural hair as you grow that awesome afro.
Summer is here and the beach is your destination! Flat or frizzy hair got you wiggin’ out? Don’t fret. We’ve got the low-down on how to get the most beautiful beach waves in a flash.
The first step is to make sure your hair is clean and properly conditioned. We recommend using cuticle-smoothing Pureology Curl Complete Condition.
Once your hair is completely dry, you can get started. Take a small piece of hair (the smaller the piece you work with, the tighter your beach waves will be) and use a comb to brush through. Use a tiny amount of your moisturising Pureology Curl Complete Condition and work it in from root to tip.
Take your section of hair and wind it tightly around your finger. Carefully remove the finger and secure the piece of hair (still tightly wound) to the scalp using two bobby pins in a criss-cross formation. Repeat until you've secured all your hair.
Leave in for as long as possible – at least an hour – before setting your gorgeous waves free. The curls will be super tight when you first remove the bobby pins, so just use your fingers to loosen and ‘poof’ them out.
Lock in those beach waves with the help of the non-sticky, thermo-protective Kérastase Styling Spray à Porter.
The final step? Head off to the beach. We guarantee you’ll make waves the moment you set foot on the sand!
